Dallas

I’ve lived in Dallas my whole life. It’s a great place. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about all the fun things there are here. As soon as David’s arthritis is in remission, I want to get back to enjoying the city. If you ever get a chance to visit, here are my recommendations.

San Antonio

We did a lot on Friday. David did better than I had anticipated. He was able to walk around in most of the stores. He even looked at antique comic books and hand carved walking sticks, although he couldn’t find any tall enough for his 6′ 4″ body. One of the little shops there is called Creative Treasures. They have candles in “Fried Green Tomato” fragrance. They smell great. Not like french fries or tomatoes if you ask me.

That night we saw a parade on the River Walk. They have floats, but instead of being on vehicles, they’re on boats. We were so excited that we got front row tickets. Then we learned that there is such a thing as too close.

12 Days of Birthday

For Brother #2′s birthday I’m giving him twelve small gifts, sort of like the twelve days of Christmas. He’ll open a present a day for twelve days. I chose a “Redneck” theme because Brother #2 is well, a Redneck. He loves fishing and wild boar hunting. He listens to country music and drives a pickup. He works for Bass Pro Shops.

It looks like we won’t be selling our house. There have only been seven showings since March. We’ve spoken with our realtor, and we’re not willing to do any more price reductions. Our contract with the realtor ends in September, and if it hasn’t sold by then, we’ll just wait until the market is better. We might rent the house out, and rent a one story for us to live in. Truthfully, we have no idea what we’re going to do.
