The weather in my neck of the woods:
70 degrees and sunny. Perfect. And really pleasant for David’s arthritic joints!

It’s not on right now.

On the menu for tonight:
Chicken spaghetti

On my To Do List:
Load of laundry
Pack for San Antonio!
Make carmel popcorn
Pickup prescriptions (That’s always on my to-do list!)

New Recipe I tried last week:
Klingon Chicken

In the craft basket:
Knitting (I’m still trying to teach myself.)
Tiles to make coasters for Christmas presents. (You have to check out Tip Junkie!)

Looking forward to:
Thanksgiving – Our trip to San Antonio
David’s arthritis being in remission

Use apple cider vinegar to get rid of fruit flies.

Lesson learned the past few days:
My husband is more like my father than I realized. This week I learned that David is every bit the workaholic my father is. He feels the need to work even if he doesn’t have to for the money.

Several missionary friends that I can’t mention because their safety could be compromised.
My church
And of course David’s arthritis

Awhile back I wrote a blog post called How You Can Help David. I figured it was time for an update. Here are some more ways you can help.

1. Pray that we would get different health insurance that would cover David’s Humira and Celebrex.
2. Pray that the medications put David’s arthritis in remission.
3. Pray for our marriage. Chronic illness takes quite a toll on marriages.
4. Be kind and considerate. When we can’t attend something, you might say, “Is everything alright?” instead of “Why weren’t you there, slacker?”
5. Sometimes, especially if there is nothing new to report, we get sick of talking about arthritis. Maybe you could ask about David’s career. Or our dog. We always want to talk about Henry!
6. Recommend restaurants with good vegetarian meals when we go out to eat with you and your family. We’re trying hard to limit David’s animal protein intake to reduce inflammation.
7. Ask David what he needs when you see him. Ask him if there is anything you can do.
8. Keep in mind that we are physically incapable of having children right now. Comments like, “You’re so lucky you don’t have children,” sting a bit.
