It’s not about you.

Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others.

I got a few issues of O magazine free. I won’t be paying for a subscription. Oprah and Dr. Phil seem to say that if you’re not happy with your marriage, well then, get a divorce. People in real life have seemed so selfish lately. Maybe it’s because I’m reading Dr. Laura’s book, The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage. (Thanks again, Dayna!) She talks quite a bit about putting others first. I myself am selfish quite often. I need to meditate on this scripture, too. It’s not all about me. Real love is sacrificial.

I’d already been thinking about this, and then Sunday our pastor preached on Matthew 7:12. The golden rule is quite a tall order.
