David has employment past our move date! At approximately the same time I was writing my last post, asking for prayers regarding David finding a job in Dallas, David’s boss told him they were making him a remote employee.

His company has never had a remote employee. The board has approved making him a remote part time employee for a three month trial period. He’ll lose three hours a week, but he won’t have to pay union dues. We’ll have to pay COBRA for two months, but at the end of the three months, his boss and the CIO are pushing hard for him to be hired back as full time.

David and I are moving back to Texas.

We were in the process of moving into a one bedroom apartment here in our apartment complex. I had a post all written up about us staying in New Jersey for another year. Here’s a quote:

The decision to stay another year was completely David’s. I have had no peace about going home or staying here. I’ve prayed and prayed, but ultimately I had to tell David to make the choice because I just don’t feel the Holy Spirit leading me one way or another. And it’s his career. David has always made excellent career choices.

In March, David and I moved from Dallas, Texas to Camden, New Jersey. David began working just three weeks after his interview. We had to move fast! We left a lot of our stuff behind in storage, and we sold or gave away many items.

To help David and I get on the same page about what we were taking with us, one night we went around the house and color coded everything with stickers. We had these garage sale price stickers on hand, but you could use any colored stickers. We marked all the items we were taking to Jersey with orange stickers. Pink was for storage and orange was for things we were selling or giving away.

David had the ingenious idea to get rid of our DVD and Blu-Ray cases. We took a lot of DVDs to Movie Trading Company, and with the money we made David purchased this case to store the discs in.
