First of all, grocery store workers putting raw chicken in the same bag as my produce is just wrong. I am always especially grateful to the clerk at my Kroger who puts the chicken in a bag all by itself. You, ma’am, could bag groceries for Monk, and that’s saying quite a lot.

Also, you may want to skip this paragraph if you’re a male. Yeah, men, don’t read the rest of this paragraph. I don’t care about panty lines. I don’t care what the magazines say. I don’t want hemroids or a bladder infection from fecal matter being transfered on a thong. Yeah, that really does happen to some women. Just don’t look at my derriere and there won’t be an issue.

Also, it drives me crazy in movies when some guy buys a girl a dress and thinks she can put it on and go to a party or a ball or whatever. First, she’d need to shave her legs. Then, if she’s going to wear open toed shoes, she’ll have to paint her toenails. The girl would also need to pluck her eyebrows and probably put on clear deoderant instead of the powder kind she’s wearing. Not to mention she’ll have to do something with her hair. And what about her accessories? Does she have a purse and earrings that go with the dress? Maybe it’s just me. Maybe most women can just slip on a dress and head out the door.

I’m really annoyed with myself, too. David talked me into Digorno pizza twice this week. And I’ve gotten off of my workout routine. The past month I’ve only worked out once a week. This week I didn’t work out at all. Ah, well. Tomorrow is another day.

David is not feeling any benefits from the Humira, yet. I’m still praying he feels better by Thanksgiving. Can you believe Thanksgiving is only six weeks away?

We’re experiencing dramatic changes in the barometric pressure this week in Dallas. This is very hard on David. He has had a second acupuncture treatment, although it did not provide nearly the same amount of relief as the first treatment. However, David went to the gym and swam laps right before the acupuncture, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

The house is fairly dirty, and I don’t even care. I’m just cleaning when I can, without feeling pressured by a “For Sale” sign in our yard.

We still haven’t decided what we’re going to do with the house. We could try to stay in the two story, we could lease it or we could try to sell it again after the holidays.

My life has been a bit hectic lately. Our schedule is very full. We are trying to cut back and allow ourselves plenty of time to rest and relax, but it’s so hard. Especially when we have to say no to things like spending time with family and friends. We’re not really good at saying no.

Today, Saturday, we’re watching movies in our pjs. And creating a budget. Our finances seem to become more and more complicated with every doctor we see. One thing I’m finding very annoying with budgeting software is that the software doesn’t recognize the difference between a transaction at the Kroger pharmacy and the Kroger gas pump, therefore it looks like we’re spending 40% of our money on groceries.

Are you reading this? I hope you are. You’ve gifted me with your knack for making friends wherever you go. Your ability to strike up conversations with complete strangers wherever you are. It’s a delightful gift to have.

Except, see, here’s the problem. I’m not the one striking up conversations.

I went to get a brochure from a storage unit place. I walked in and literally said, “May I have a brochure?” From there all I said was yes, no and oh. I met the owners, a husband and wife. They told me where they originally lived and all about the storage unit they used to manage for the Dallas Cowboys. I came away knowing how many children they have and that they now reside on the premises of the storage facility where I got the brochure. I learned their whole life story. And I just asked for a brochure.

Also, I knew my family doctor’s nurse was leaving his office before he did. She just started telling me about herself while she was taking my temperature and blood pressure. Her computer had crashed. She’d lost lots of documents, including her resume. It was a strange feeling, having the nurse that’s working on me telling me she wants to work for a different doctor’s office.

Mom has this theory. If you get up in the morning and put your makeup on, you’ll have confidence, which means you’ll be in a better mood, and you’ll get more accomplished. Plus, with your makeup on, you’re prepared in case you run into someone you know at the store or if you have unexpected company.

Well, since I live away from everyone I personally know, I went to the grocery store yesterday withouth my makeup. Aunt Bettie, the cashiers at Kroger know me. As I was checking out, the cashier said, “Aren’t you a housewife?” Yes. “I remember you…”

So now I have to wear my makeup to Kroger because now the cashiers know me. I don’t know them, but they know me.
