A Young Wife’s Tale

Once, when we were living in our apartment, I locked my car keys inside my car while I was getting the mail at the leasing office. I still had my apartment key and cell phone, so I walked to the apartment and called David. I told him when he got home I’d use his key to unlock my car door and move my car to its proper parking spot. Awhile later, David came home, and handed me my car keys. He had moved my car for me.

David and I have lost many things due to his chronic illness. Our youth and our newlywed years, for instance. We’ve certainly lost a lot of money. Specialists are expensive! Due to the medication David has to take, we’ve lost the ability to have children right now.

When David first started taking Hydrocodone, he’d wake up in the middle of the night wired. It was rough there for awhile. Now he just can’t fall asleep. He gets fidgety, and I’m so sleepy. Which is better, to be in pain or to have insomnia?
