Caregiver Anxiety Attack

13 May

Not long after David was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, before he started having flares that left him bedridden, I, the caregiver, had an anxiety attack. I blame it on the health insurance company we had at the time and my HR department. Here’s the gist of what made me so stressed out. Our health insurance [...]

Blessed With Health Insurance

29 Apr

God blessed us by sending us back to Texas. God performed a minor miracle by making David a remote employee for his company in New Jersey on a trial basis. I am so thankful for those things, but those were things we prayed for. We asked for those things to happen. Something else incredible has [...]

Friday Fragments

*I have never experienced the loss of a child, but this post was just so beautiful, I had to share. Check out Raising Arrows Is There Anything Worse Than This?

*One night last week, David says I yelled in my sleep, “I will not let my best friend die for my best activity!” I have no idea what I was dreaming about. David said he is pleased that even in my dreams I’m making good moral choices.

Waiting for New Health Insurance Cards

8 Dec

David and I became active on his company’s health insurance Saturday. We had been on the contract company’s health insurance, and the last two months we were on COBRA. I’m really happy to be on the new insurance. The benefits are a lot better.

Now we just need our insurance cards. David’s out of a few prescriptions, and I’m anxious to get on the health insurance company’s website to search for a new rheumatologist.

There’s a couple at our church here in New Jersey with a daughter who has multiple health problems, including lupus, seizures and a form of arthritis. As it turns out, they took her to David’s rheumatologist, the one who doesn’t think he has psoriatic arthritis.

Fragmented Friday

*Further evidence I’m a pessimist: I’m scared to death we’ll be stuck in Jersey forever. I told David, and then my mother and brother that if I die in this miserable state, they’d better take my remains back to Texas. I told them I’d come back to haunt them if they left me in New Jersey.

*I tried to make our October COBRA payment online, but the website would only let me pay for October & November. I called customer service and received no help. They wouldn’t let me pay by phone. I was told to send them a check if I wanted to pay for one month at a time. That means another 7-10 days of waiting for them to show us as active, which means another 7-10 days of no scripts or doctors’ appointments.
