April Declutter Challenge

3 May

I didn’t really do any decluttering in April. We moved from Dallas, Texas to South Jersey. Half of our things are still in storage in Texas. My goal for this month is to get the office organized. I don’t think I’ll be throwing anything away or giving anything away, but I’ll focus on controlling the clutter.

March Declutter Challenge

Well, this month was certainly interesting. BEFORE I found out we were moving to New Jersey I did this:

I went through my nightstand and got rid of:

2 piano music books that I never use
1 Benadryl topical stick that expired in 2008
5 pages/scraps that I’d torn out of magazines but never needed. One was on the new standards for alcoholism. It really was interesting how very little you have to drink to be considered an alcoholic. But I don’t know who I thought I was saving it for. David and I don’t drink.
1 spiral notebook on which I’d tried to write a story. It was terrible.

February Declutter Challenge

I am reorganizing my craft closet. It’s looking much better, but I still have a long way to go. I discovered four extra rolls of scotch tape, so now I know I don’t need to buy any more for a long while! I purged approximated 25 items from the craft closet, including eight pairs of decorative edge scissors that I haven’t used in years.

Total Items for February: 49

Declutter Challenge – January

1 Feb

David got rid of countless papers in our office. I suppose I could say we’ve already met our goal for the year, but rather than count pages, I’ll count file folders. David got rid of 16 files! I had check stubs going back 5+ years, files on companies we no longer use and a car we no longer own. Way to go David! Like I said, I can’t wait till we are retired!

Declutter Challenge

Being organized means I don’t waste money buying something because I can’t find what I already own. Clutter gets in the way and wastes my time. Anyone else want to join the Declutter Challenge? Amy will post a linky at the end of each month so we can share our successes and encourage each other.
