David Has Employment Past Our Move Date!

25 Mar

David has employment past our move date! At approximately the same time I was writing my last post, asking for prayers regarding David finding a job in Dallas, David’s boss told him they were making him a remote employee.

His company has never had a remote employee. The board has approved making him a remote part time employee for a three month trial period. He’ll lose three hours a week, but he won’t have to pay union dues. :) We’ll have to pay COBRA for two months, but at the end of the three months, his boss and the CIO are pushing hard for him to be hired back as full time.

Christmas in Dallas

6 Jan

We’re back in New Jersey. Christmas in Dallas was wonderful! I was thrilled to meet my newest nephew and spend time with all of my family.

The good people at the animal shelter finally called us back on December 28. As soon as I walked in with the dog, they said, “Your owners are looking for you!” Yes, the owners had called animal control, and so we have another happy ending.

David’s brother-in-law just finished chemotherapy, and as a show of support, David shaved his head just before we left.

2nd Week in New Jersey

11 Apr

We survived our second week in New Jersey.

Monday when David came home from work, he said, “I put in a request to go to a training conference in Virginia. It’s Wednesday through Friday. They’ll never approve it on such short notice.”

Tuesday afternoon, David calls me and says, “Pack my bag. I’m leaving in three hours.”
