I Do Not Like New Jersey

I do not like New Jersey. I have tried. I’ve tried to remain positive, joyful…Enough. This place stinks. South Jersey is bad. I want to go home.

I love Texas. I love the people. I love the food. I love the availability of Reformed Baptist churches and u turns.

I am grateful David has a job. I am grateful that his arthritis hasn’t flared since we’ve been here. However, I am counting on visits from several family members and friends this summer to get me through until we get to go home for the holidays.

Chronic Illness and Finances

As I was doing our taxes this year, I tallied up all of our medical expenses for 2009. We spent $12,000. And we didn’t even have any surgeries or hospitalizations.

Suffice it to say, we’ve never been able to go beyond an emergency fund to a savings account with three months of living expenses. Sorry Suze.

Yesterday

Yesterday I worked at my little part time personal secretary job. David doesn’t usually call me when he’s at work. Yesterday, he called me on my direct line at work. I don’t think he has ever done that. He wanted to know what time I was leaving work to come get him. I also had a text and a voicemail from him on my cell when I left the office. He was having a really bad day. At first, I thought he was having a flare up.

No, no. Turns out, he forgot his meds the night before. Yup. Just one time
