It will spoil your Christmas.

I’m warning you.

If you are my mother, you’d better not be reading this.

Okay, so I’m doing the 12 Days of Christmas for my mother this year. She’ll open a present every day beginning December 14 so that she will open the last present on December 25.

I love this idea for Snuggle. Isn’t that a cute, practical gift? I wish I’d seen it earlier. I only need one more gift.

Mom wants eye primer. You know, the stuff that keeps your eyeshadow from creasing? Does anyone have a good (cheap) eye primer they could recommend?

Here’s what I’ve got.

Hand warmers (My mother is always cold!), mascara, hand scrub, a nail buffer…

This one’s a family joke. My mother does not like salmon, but for years a relative gave her cans of salmon for Christmas. I’m not really sure why.

For Brother #2′s birthday I’m giving him twelve small gifts, sort of like the twelve days of Christmas. He’ll open a present a day for twelve days. I chose a “Redneck” theme because Brother #2 is well, a redneck. He loves fishing and wild boar hunting. He listens to country music and drives a pickup. He works for Bass Pro Shops. I could go on and on. Anyway, some of these are more gag gifts than gifts he’ll actually use.

When we were little my father would joke about feeding us pickled pigs feet for dinner. As an adult I learned that this was not just some crazy food he made up. And then I found a jar in Albertson’s while I was looking for pimentos, and I had to buy them. They look so disgusting.

Pork rinds, 12 guage shotgun shells and a Slim Jim are perfect stocking stuffers for your favorite redneck this Christmas!

The Dr. Pepper is made in Dublin, Texas with real sugar, not corn syrup. Brother #2 likes Sunflower seeds, so I threw those in the pile, along with a styrofoam cooler to carry the gifts over in.
12 Days of Redneck Birthday
I don’t quite have twelve items, yet. Any ideas?

I’ve been thinking of lots of 12 Days of Birthday or Christmas ideas. It would be fun and inexpensive to do twelve days of gum for a child. Think of all the different kinds of gum: Bazooka, Double Bubble, peppermint, wintergreen, spearmint, gum balls…

Lots of women would love 12 Days of Birthday chocolate. If you had a little more money, you could do twelve days of books for the bibliophile in your life. Or if someone you love has a thing for strawberries, you could do strawberry scented shampoo, chocolate covered strawberries, gummy strawberries, tea towels with strawberries, and on their birthday strawberry shortcake. Twelve days of coffee…Twelve days of music with an Itunes gift card, sheet music, tickets to a concert, a musical note charm for a charm bracelet…
