Totally, i am an african american woman and been denied opportunities growing up, being at home with my children(I am not married or with child) is absolutely unheard of..people died to be able to get an education and you want to do WHAT? yeah. Raise my children, that’s all…getting the degree was the easiest thing I have ever done..family..NOW that is a bear…

I was told by someone (that I don’t know that well) that I’m wasting my masters degree, because I’m at home now. Whatever. I’d rather “waste” that than lose time with my child!

I understand your reaction about the church’s response to certain things. People in the church often scoff at me because I don’t want kids. They think that if I don’t want kids I shouldn’t get married. Of course, we all know the only reason to get married is to procreate. (Now what will they say when they find that a woman is married and can’t procreate…must be a sin problem.) Also, if a woman doesn’t like kids she clearly is evil. Very, very evil. So, go for it, Ash. Be a stay at home wife. Enjoy it. Working an 8-5 is boring and not so rewarding after all…
