David has accepted a job in New Jersey. We are so grateful God has provided David with another job. Moving from Dallas, Texas to New Jersey is a little bit overwhelming. We have a lot to do in two weeks. Any tips?
David asked his rheumatologist what he thought about us moving to New Jersey. He told David, “Well, there are people all over the world with arthritis. There are some climates better than others for arthritis, but you’ve been doing better. You really won’t know until you get there.”
Dallas has dramatic, rapid changes in weather. At least in New Jersey when it gets cold it will stay cold. Perhaps the more stable barometric pressure will be good for his Psoriatic Arthritis.
The company is only giving us a $1,000 moving allowance. Since there will be public transportation in our area, we won’t need two cars. We plan to sell my Explorer to help cover the moving costs. On such a limited budget, we are leaving a lot of items behind.
Please keep us in your prayers. We need to find good tenants to rent our house. We’re also trying to find a rent house or apartment that will let us bring Henry.
We are sad to be leaving our family and friends, but we’re very hopeful that they will come visit us!
Love,
A Young Wife

Will be praying for you. You might be right about the more stable climate. MS has rapidly changing weather too and it is like your body can’t keep up with freezing one day and tropical the next.
I’m praying for ya! Hoping everything just opens right up for you guys.
You know we are praying for you guys!!
Congrats to David on the new job. I know you’ll be sad to leave your families, but what a wonderful opportunity. I’ll be praying for you!
I have never really moved before so I don’t know a lot about it, but let us know what you need help with! Also, Jason and I were thinking of visiting some friends in NY this summer…now we can add you to the traveling agenda!
Good luck with your move!
Congratulations! This can be a wonderfully exciting time…but I know it’s a little scary and sad too. What part of New Jersey? There is some beautiful countryside in New Jersey; I didn’t realize that til I went there. Stay as far away from Newark as possible. It is the armpit of the world. Well, you’re a lot closer to Joanna and I, so ya never know….roadtrip???
I will be praying for smooth transitions, for good people for YOUR house, and for a wonderful NEW place where you, David AND Henry will feel right at home when you walk in.
Love you guys!
Very best of luck with your move!
*Hugs*
Spring is the worst for my joints. I’m not as far north as NJ, but I am in the east. I don’t know what your climate in TX was like, either. But in the spring, not only are there way too many 40 degree days, but those days are rainy. The cold combined with the damp hurts.
It does sound like you all are discovering other methods to keep him doing well, so hopefully the climate won’t be as much of an issue.
My tips for moving? Pack a first week box, and keep it with you in the car while you travel (easy to find). Include sheets, under-roos, etc. – all the basics you could imagine needing for your first few days there, while you slowly dig through all the other boxes.
I hope the move is not too stressful. I know that moving is. We just recently moved from California to Washington (not too far luckily) but I know that was expensive. I will be praying that you are able to get a good deal for all the items you are selling.
Blessings!
Texas to NJ is a big move! Best of luck, it will be quite a transition but it will also be a great adventure;-) You’ll do great!

Wow! Such big news. Congrats to David on the new job. I’ll keep you both in my prayers for as less stress as possible in moving. May God open wide-open doors for you!
Wow, that’s a long way to move. Glad that God has blessed you all with a job. Be blessed.
Congrats to David on the new job!! you guys will be coming over to my neck of the woods. Where in Jersey?
As someone who moved from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania (one state over from each of yours) 19 years ago, I think this part of the country is a great place to live! You are off to a great start getting rid of one car; that’s a smart choice. I’m praying for a wonderful new life for you!
Congratulations on this new adventure. My stepmom lives in New Jersey, and it is a great place to live! Where will you be moving to?
