Master Suite

11 Feb

David and I bought our house in 2008. Before living here, we lived in an apartment that was the size of our master suite. When we first moved in, we actually had it set up as a media room. When we put our house on the market, we started using it as a bedroom. Blue is my favorite color for decorating. I think I made David sick of blue. When we got a king size bed, David said that he wanted to go with neutral colors. Here’s our updated “neutral” master suite so far.

I purchased the pieces for our bed individually over several weeks this summer. I used a 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond Coupon for each piece. It saved a lot of money!

In December I bought a canvas at Michael's and painted this.

For Christmas and my birthday I received several gifts for our master suite, including this vanity chair.

I think I went a little overboard with decluttering in years past. When we put our house on the market, I hid a lot of my books throughout the house. Well, I’ve searched high and low, and I still can’t find my Chronicles of Narnia or the majority of my L.M. Montgomery books. So, my bookshelf is a little bare.

The desk was purchased a year ago at a garage sale. And I have a black thumb. I don’t know how that plant has survived so long.

Up next on my list for the master suite, after David gets a new job of course, is new curtains in David’s neutral color scheme. And a headboard or maybe an area rug for my desk area.

I L O V E the bedspread! Colors like that you can mix with anything!

I’ve always wanted a deep red bedroom, a la French boudoir! Either that or Moroccan! LOL

Your room looks relaxing and serene! Good job.
