I Was Right or David is Staying Gluten Free

26 Feb

I was right. I knew it.

David got sick after eating pizza Wednesday. Whether it’s a gluten allergy or Celiac Disease, we don’t know, and we won’t be finding out until we get better health insurance.

David is doing pretty well. He’s continuing to lose weight, and he’s gone from swimming at the gym for 15-20 minutes at a time to 30-40 minutes.

It’s hard to know whether it’s the gluten free diet or the Humira starting to work that’s making him feel better. Whatever it is, we’ll take it!

David has two interviews next week, so keep him in your prayers.

Love,
A Young Wife

I have a friend with Celiac and it’s a real pain at first, but she feels so much better now that she’s gotten the hang of what to eat/not eat. Good luck on the journey!

Also, Just stopping by to thank you for visiting me on my SITS day and leaving me some blog love! Everyone was so sweet and I really enjoyed the day!

    Blessings,

Hi Ashley! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I’m actually SOOO glad I’m checking out your website right now. My husband has Psoriasis (inflammatory disease) and has painful rashes around his ears/forehead area. It’s also in his nails too. After doing some research I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s allergic to wheat. This week he’s cut bread, rice and pasta out of his diet (he’s also following the Zone Diet) and let me tell you his skin has already started to clear up! He feels better, has more energy. I’m not sure if that is similar to gluten-free diets/issues as I’m still trying to learn about this all. I look forward to reading your articles :)

I think my husband is allergic to gluten too. But I don’t think I’ll ever get him off it. He has all kinds of stomach & allergy issues – especially after wheat. Guess I’ll let him come to his own conclusions, in time.
Thanks so much for visiting yesterday. Hope to see you again!

I have an allergie to sulfate/sulfa/sulfite and it is actually the preservative found in many food items. Makes me sick to eat any sort of item with it in it.

GLUTEN DOES NOT FLAIR UP PSORIATIC ARTRHITIS. PLUS IF HE HAS TRUE PSORIATIC ARTHRIITS, HIS TOE NAILS WOULD BE ALL MESSED UP AND HAVE SKIN LESIONS ON HIS BODY.

Actually, if you have Celiac or gluten intolerance, gluten can cause inflammation. You’re right, though. For the average person gluten does not cause Psoriatic Arthritis to flare. David does have lesions, but thankfully, his meds keep his psoriasis from being much of an issue and his nails from pitting and ridging. If only the meds would control the arthritis part as well as they control the psoriasis!
