February Declutter Challenge
1 Mar
David continued to help me declutter our house this month. He went through his clothes and got rid of at least 20 items that were stained or torn.
I got rid of 1 cookbook that I never use. (Don’t forget that Half Price Books buys cookbooks, too!) I put 1 sweatshirt in the garage sale pile because it is so difficult for me to get on and off. I threw away 1 bottle of cheap nail polish that even David said chipped too fast and 1 bottle of that shimmery, glittery stuff that is so hard to get off your nails.
I am reorganizing my craft closet. It’s looking much better, but I still have a long way to go. I discovered four extra rolls of scotch tape, so now I know I don’t need to buy any more for a long while! I purged approximated 25 items from the craft closet, including eight pairs of decorative edge scissors that I haven’t used in years.
Total Items for February: 49
I’d like to do more in March. David and I hope to go through everything in the garage and get rid of what we don’t need, and organize what we do.

Hi – you are so smart to be doing this now. The clutter stuff just adds up.
You’re doing a great job decluttering! I need to get working, as our citywide garage sale is in May.
Yay for getting hubby on board this month…my hubby hates going through his clothes so we do it very rarely (thankfully he has a minimal wardrobe but still some items are dated!)
I also was able to get rid of some crafty items this month…I even sold some scrapbook paper on Craigslist…I haven’t scrapbooked in 2 years so it was time to let some of that go! (And I’m jealous you found tape…that is something I need to buy but never can remember to!!)
Great progress. I love when the hubby gets involved.
Love that your hubby’s doing this with you. Keep on!
I love de-cluttering my house . . . I always feel so much more organized afterward. I do a big de-clutter every six months and I’m always amazed by how much I have to toss or give away.
This is a great idea. We have so much stuff…my hubby and I are both “collectors” so to speak. Not like hoarding, but when we collect something, we go nuts. And we’re both cheap. And can’t resist a bargain. I bought a green hat I wasn’t 100% crazy about because it was a $26.00 hat on clearance for .75!! How can you pass that up? But now I have a green hat I may wear once. Ug.
