Chopping Down a Tree
27 Sep
My father-in-law and David’s brother-in-law came over this afternoon and chopped down the tree in our backyard. Ever since the tornado blew through our town, it’s been leaning more and more. And every time it rains, it leans a little bit more. And, yes, we have AMAZING family.
Here my father-in-law was just starting on the limbs.

From this angle you can really see how bad the tree was.
Here, FIL was using a hand saw to take down some of the limbs while David was at Home Depot getting a new blade for the chainsaw.

The tree came down a lot faster than we anticipated. Here’s David waiting for me to open the gate.
Hooray for bulk item pickup!
Poor Henry is looking for the tree.

Henry’s serious pose. I think he’s mad because he’s going to have to remark his territory.

Henry’s happy face. It was time for dinner! I made pot roast in a cast iron dutch oven with potatoes and carrots. And bacon cheddar biscuits. It’s seemed like an appropriate, manly, hard work kind of meal.
Thank you father-in-law and brother-in-law! We really appreciate your help!

My husband loves to use a chainsaw! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope you try the pumpkin roll, you’ll love it.
Does dad need to come by and dig up the stump? I guess if they wait a while, it will be easier, once it drys up.
Hey, Linda! Thank you for stopping by. Darlene, I have no idea. I guess we’d better ask the guys.
