The Latest on David

29 Jul

David has started several new things recently. They all seem to be helping.

First, we got a new bed. It’s a Sleep Number. David loves it. Here’s a picture of us posing like the couples on the brochure.

It’s a king size, and we had a queen, so I’ve not been reaping the benefits of having my softer side. I’ve been snuggled up against David on his side. I just can’t sleep that far away.

See the look on David’s face in these photos? It says, “I’m humoring you. Girls are so weird.”

My favorite thing about the new bed is the tags. Select Comfort products have these tags on one corner. You match up the tags on the mattress, mattress cover, fitted sheet and flat sheet. It saves so much time and aggravation trying to get everything on properly.

Also, David has started taking Celebrex and muscle relaxers. He says they’re helping. I say, we missed church on Sunday and I can’t tell a difference, but it’s his body and if he thinks they help then fine. The muscle relaxers make him sleepy, so it’s a nice change from the insomnia.

As our chiropractor suggested, David has cut his animal protein intake. He’s eating about half of the meat he was a month ago. Lunches usually still involve meat, but dinner has become vegetarian. Hopefully I’ll get better at vegetarian lunches and he’ll be almost meat free before long. The chiropractor thinks this will help with David’s inflammation.

David says he’s feeling pretty good, so everything we’re doing must be helping. However, he missed work today because his neck and shoulders were bothering him. I’m guessing that’s from changing the tire yesterday.

Today David started taking pro-botics. I eat yogurt, so I get plenty of live active cultures, but David doesn’t like yogurt, even in a smoothie. Maybe this will help, too.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and encouragement. Maybe in a week or two I’ll be able to say that I agree with David that he’s feeling better!

Love,
A Young Wife

Wow, I have slept on one of those beds at a hotel once. I loved being able to choose my own level of softness! Enjoy the new king size. We have a king and I love it!!! I cannot imagine ever sleeping on anything smaller! I need my space. :)
