Kerri,
Unfortuantely I can believe that they lied to you about being the first patient. That is so wrong! I would have been furious over the news article!

Hey Ashley,
Being a "professional medical patient" I understand your frustration! It is one thing if an emergency came up...for example, my ENT (for the trach) sometimes runs really late but it's always due to an emergency, NOT overbooking. It is such a pain to switch doctors, but when you're waiting that long, it's just inexcusable! THEIR time is SO precious, but ours is worthless? I think NOT!

A previous gynecologist I had was notorious for overbooking. I always waiting at least an hour. Even though we lived almost an hour away, I asked to be the FIRST appointment of the day. My appointment was for 9:00, supposedly the first patient of the day. They had a sign up sheet by the receptionist window, and I was the EIGHTH person to sign up for that doctor. I was LIVID!

Imagine my fury when a year or so later this guy was on the front page of the entertainment page of the biggest newspaper in the area showing off his $20,000 MOVIE ROOM in his HOUSE!!! Some doctors are just greedy money mongers, and you can tell which ones are and which ones are not!

Good luck!

Hey, Rachel! I can't imagine waits that long with babies! Ugh! Unfortunately, the rheumatologist's staff are worse than he is. Honestly, it doesn't matter what time you make your appointment. You just have to wait several hours. That's how he operates. I've always wanted to learn to knit or crochet! That's a great idea!

My original family doctor always ran behind in a similar fashion to your rheumatologist. It was just intolerable to wait for a period of hours with at least one sick kid and a number of others in a small germy waiting room. We really liked the doctor and didn't want to change so I started calling before every appointment to see how far behind the doctor was running. It cut down our wait time by hours. I wonder if your doctor's nurses would help you and David by letting you know what time you would actually see the doctor so that you could spend your "wait" time outside of his office. Our doctor eventually relocated to a practice in Oklahoma where he wouldn't be forced to squeeze so many patients into one day. I would hate for you to have to start all over with your Humira paperwork. In the meantime, you might want to take up knitting. You would probably have a full sweater done in 4 hours. :)
