Arthritis Walk, Etc.

8 Jan

On May 15, I’ll be walking with Henry in the 2010 Dallas Arthritis Walk. I am so excited about this! I didn’t even know there were walks for arthritis until a friend mentioned one of her friends was doing this. David is considering doing the one mile walk. This seems like a great opportunity to raise awareness about arthritis in young people. Here’s my Arthritis Walk Webpage if you’d like to learn more or make a donation.

Have you signed up for Swagbucks yet? It’s an Internet Search engine with reward points. You can use the reward points for magazine subscriptions, gift cards, books, toys and more!

Here’s an intriguing article on MRSA and the over-use of antibiotics. This sort of thing grabs my attention because David takes immuno-suppresion drugs for his arthritis, and he is more susceptible to infection than the average person.

This article on how being overweight may decrease the chances of arthritis going into remission was quite interesting.

And one more random thing. I feel like I should tell my readers that I typically respond to comments via email. It suddenly occured to me that someone looking at the comments might think I was ignoring people. I love getting comments, and I typically respond to each comment with an email, that way I’m sure the commenter sees what I said.

Love,
A Young Wife

I was once a receptionist at a physical therapy clinic. A visiting physical therapist made the comment that “really, wouldn’t I have to admit that pretty much anyone could do a receptionist job?” I replied “it depends on whether you want it done correctly”. The next time this guy has one of his wonderful comments give him your best Southern Belle smile and with a glare in your eyes think to yourself how sad it must be to be such an idiot. Smart employers realize the receptionist is the face a potential client remembers. Hang in there!

I’ve also seen some interesting articles on Bacteriophage therapy to deal with MRSA.

The other “older” treatment regimen that’s making a comeback is medical maggot therapy for open wounds such as foot ulcers. The little guys eat only dead tissue, kill bacteria and promote wound healing.

Oh. My. Word. You have will power, missy. If someone ever said that to ME…I would totally unload on him. What an idiot.
    You’re awesome!

I was going to offer to walk with you…BUT, we are out of town that weekend…AND, you will probably be as well. :) Hubby and I had already decided we were going to sponsor you. We are still going to sponsor you.

Praying for you and David every day. We love you both so much.
