Just for the Joy of It

21 Apr

Just for the Joy of It is hosted by Sharon at Good, True and Beautiful. Click here to read more joyful posts. The apartment is still in disarray, and I’m struggling to find our rhythm. I’ve shopped at five different grocery stores and haven’t been happy with any of them. A lot of our organization [...]

New Jersey Housewives Kit

6 Apr

My cousin, Merry, and her sisters created this New Jersey Housewives Kit. Merry also wrote and sang this song for me. It’s to the tune of “The Yellow Rose of Texas”.

She’s a yellow rose of Texas
And she’s moving far from home
Those crazy Jersey housewives
Will soon call her one of their own
But girl they’re very different, Big hair and everything
So here’s a Jersy housewife kit to get you settled in.

Happy Birthday Brother #3!

1 Apr

Brother #3 turns 18 today! As a 4 year old, Brother #3 could pick me up. I was the same size then as I am now. He’s a tough guy. A few summers I watched him a couple of hours a week while my mother was working. I’d read the Chronicles of Narnia to him [...]

New Jersey

29 Mar

Saturday we arrived in New Jersey. David’s parents picked us up at the airport. They had driven up in our car with Henry. They really love their son. Henry was happy to see us, but he seems to have really bonded with Grandma and Grandpa. I hear he got to drink coffee and eat french fries. ;)

Dumb Blonde

22 Feb

*Recently I was working at my part time job at the law firm. I was at the front desk and a solicitor came in and gave me his business card. He started giving me the whole sales pitch. He was talking quickly, people were walking by and the phones were ringing. I managed to catch a few words here and there, including “server” and “process”.

Being the geek that I am, I told him, “Ok, thanks, I’ll give Stephanie your business card.” Stephanie handles a lot of our computer issues. Since I’d heard those two key words, naturally I thought he was a computer guy. Nope. He was a “process server”. The guys that hands folks papers and says, “You’ve been served.”

Lesson Learned: I work for a law firm, I have no legal experience, and I need to watch more Law & Order.
