My Tuesday

Once I hit the exit ramp, the car started shaking really bad. The back door has a terrible habit of not closing all the way, and I thought that the exit had knocked it open. It felt like maybe the speed and wind were dragging it. So, I’m on the exit ramp. I pull over to the right shoulder. I get out and slam the back door hard. I get back in and pull forward five feet and realize it wasn’t the door. I could smell rubber.

Mind Games

Do you ever play sillymind games? Like, if I run for three more minutes my cellulite will disappear? Or the “What if?” game? David and I played that one a lot when we were engaged.

Alternative Medicine

David uses a combination of traditional and alternative medicine to treat his arthritis. He responds well to massage therapy and chiropractic treatment. Supplements have not given him any relief so far.

Staycation Chronic Illness Style

David and I took a little weekend getaway this weekend. Well, actually it was a staycation, but we slept in our guest bedroom and showered in the guest bath, so it felt like a getaway. Because of David’s arthritis, we couldn’t go do all the fun Dallas stuff, but it’s okay, we’ve lived here all our lives and we’ve been to the Arboretum, Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas Summer Musicals many times. So, here’s an overview of a weekend staycation, chronic illness style.
