1. Why doesn’t David take an entry level job while he looks for a mid-level developer position? Well, most entry level computer jobs require physical work, such as lifting heavy equipment or moving and installing computers. With David’s arthritis, he cannot do that sort of thing. Other jobs you might suggest that he can’t do: waiting tables, being a sales clerk or teller. He can’t be on his feet that long. So keep praying for David to find a job. [...]

A lot of people have said things like, “God will use David’s arthritis to teach you something,” or “You’ll be a better person for having gone through all this.” I don’t feel like I’m a better person than I was a year ago. Our [...] I was right. I knew it. David got sick after eating pizza Wednesday. Whether it’s a gluten allergy or Celiac Disease, we don’t know, and we won’t be finding out until we get better health insurance. David is doing pretty well. He’s continuing to lose weight, and he’s gone from swimming at the gym for 15-20 [...] Going gluten free hasn’t been nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Even eating out wasn’t too hard. My mother found some gluten free Betty Crocker mixes at her local Kroger. The brownies were good. Very rich. They tasted like dark chocolate brownies.
