12 Days of Birthday

2 Nov

For Brother #2′s birthday I’m giving him twelve small gifts, sort of like the twelve days of Christmas. He’ll open a present a day for twelve days. I chose a “Redneck” theme because Brother #2 is well, a Redneck. He loves fishing and wild boar hunting. He listens to country music and drives a pickup. He works for Bass Pro Shops.

This and That

28 Oct

I drove around for quite awhile with my driver’s side door stuck. It wouldn’t open at all. No matter what we tried. There are two advantages to your driver door being stuck shut. First, no one is going to steal your car. Or, if someone tried to steal the car, perhaps they’d fix it trying to get the door open and that would take so long you (or security) would catch them in the act! Second, you’re not going to be car jacked. Well, maybe they could get to you from the passenger side, but that’s what I told myself. Yesterday I took my Explorer to an auto repair shop. I was hoping that this would be a quick fix, but it wasn’t. They have to take the panel off of the door. Thank you Lord for my in-laws! They’re letting us borrow one of their cars until it’s fixed.

To Do List

22 Oct

My main goal today is to get the driver’s side door on my Explorer fixed. It will not open. At all. For a few weeks it would get stuck, but if you held down the unlock button as you jiggled the handle it would open. Now, it won’t open at all. Not even if you put the actual key in the lock on the outside. The door will not open.

Sick

20 Oct

I’m sick now, too. David worked from home Monday. I was on the couch watching movies and teaching myself how to knit. Again. I bought this children’s kit back in college.

No Flu Today

17 Oct

David doesn’t have the flu. The doctor specifically said, “This doesn’t mean you’re immune from the flu for the rest of the season. You just don’t have the flu today.” We thought that was really funny.
