My mother came over before Thanksgiving and helped me put up the Christmas tree. It was so nice coming back from our trip and having the tree already up. I have a six feet tall artificial tree (No real trees for severe allergy sufferers.), but this year I made it four feet and put it on my dining room table. The house has been rearranged so much this year, and we don’t really have room for it in our living room.

I’ve got bad news, and it’s not even health related. Yesterday I was chatting with the receptionist at my part time job about how thankful we are that David still has a job. He is a computer programmer, and he has worked as a contractor for a large company here in Dallas for two years. They got rid of most of their contractors last year. We are blessed that he is still employed, and that even though we have lousy health insurance, we’re grateful because some contracting companies don’t even offer it.

I went with my SIL to the Pioneer Woman’s cookbook signing. My SIL is one smart shopper! She watched PW’s cook book on Amazon and snagged a few copies when they got down to $11.50! It was a good thing, too, because Border’s sold out of their 700 copies.

David and I teach the 3 year olds at our church. I don’t know if your familiar with how things disappear at churches, but let’s just say I know where the only pair of grown up scissors in the church are hidden. I’d been thinking about a way to carry our lesson, my own grown up scissors and other supplies. This was perfect. It was also $13 and truly bigger than I really needed.
