Tornado
11 Jun
Our area was hit by a tornado last night. We’ve also had severe thunderstorms all nights, and we’ll probably continue to have them all day. David and I were both away from home during the worst of it. As I was driving home, I saw a stop sign bent in two, trees down and glass in the road. I started getting a little scared. Henry was in our back yard. The back yard has a small covered porch, but what if the tree in the back yard had fallen and crushed him? What if he’d been struck by lightening?
I got home and Henry was soaking wet, but perfectly fine.
Most people have keys to their house. I don’t. I have a garage door opener. With our house on the market, my key is in a lock box on the front door. A garage door opener doesn’t work if the power is out. So Henry and I sat in my car until David got home and unlocked the door.
We talked to the neighbors that live behind us. They said that Henry had not been happy about the storm. They said he was pacing on the porch and growling and the storm. He was pretty upset. So upset, that David and I couldn’t get him to get out of the car for ten minutes. We pulled and pushed and finally got him to come inside. We dried him off and gave him a milk bone. He was still pretty upset.
The power came back on at 11:30 last night. The ice cream in the freezer hadn’t even melted.
Here’s a few pictures of the damage done to our house.
We’re so thankful.
The flowers in the flower beds weren’t even damaged. I’m just mad I watered yesterday morning.
Here’s what we’ve learned. I need a key to my house. Those flashlights with a tri-pod stand are wonderful. When the power’s out and you need to take a shower, it’s nice not having to hold a flashlight.

Poor Henry! Glad to hear y’all are okay.
