Preparing for the Move

We’re still not sure where we’re going to live in New Jersey. We have found a rental property manager for our house here in Dallas. He was such a nice man. Our house is a disaster right now. It’s covered in boxes and we have stuff spread out all over the floor. He said, “This is a clean house. It will show really well.” Bless his heart. Just pray we find renters immediately!
Plans keep changing. First, David was going to fly up on the 28 and then start working on the 29. I would follow by car with Henry. Now, we’re thinking about driving up together the 27 and 28. Basically, all we know is that David starts to work on the 29.
David keeps telling me I’ll have so much to blog about with the move. I keep thinking, “I don’t have time to blog! I’ve got to find new doctors and a pharmacy! I’ve got to select movers and pack! And once we’re up there, how long will it take for us to get the computers unpacked and internet hooked up?” So we’ll see how much blogging I do over the next few weeks.
Poor David did too much this weekend, packing and getting ready to move. He was in a lot of pain Sunday night. I was almost asleep when I realized David should have taken his Humira shot Friday. Oops. That’s probably why he was hurting.
Here’s what’s on our to do list:
Find a place to live in New Jersey
Select movers
Get haircuts
Get oil changed, tired pressure checked
Move stuff to storage (We’re leaving a lot of things here for the time being.)
Cancel internet service
PACK
Am I forgetting something? We’re going so fast, I’m sure I am. I’m also trying to get into see my TMJD specialist before we leave. They’ve got me on a waiting list, so pray that I can see them. I don’t know if I could make it till Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Ugh, I HATE moving too. The worst part is when you think you’re 90% done packing, and then there is always this pile of random stuff that you don’t even want, but just can’t bring yourself to throw away! And then it takes you like 5 more hours to deal with it.
Good Luck with the move!
I’m sure your house IS clean. In house hunting I have realized just how cluttered some people live. You would think they would at least try to stage the place before they put it on the market. Nope. I suspect your place looks staged all the time, as a rule. That shows through, even with boxes strewn everywhere.
I suspect David has concerns about you driving across the country alone. I’m sure you will be smart about it, though. What I wonder about, however, is his ability to sit in a car that long. Arriving only to have to spend the next week in a tub of espon salts isn’t going to help anyone. That’s a LONG trip in a car for anyone – let alone someone with arthritis issues.
What an adventure!
wow! I am so happy for you! I think this move sounds so wonderful and excited (of course stressful) sometimes I wish we could just pick up and move and be somewhere else…I wish you nothing but the best of luck!
I’ll be making a move at the end of the month, too. I’m not going very far, but I swear… there is nothing fun about packing and unpacking. I only have to find a new park for the kids. You have your hands full! Good luck!!
Moves are always so stressful and feels like you never stop for a while!
Thanks for stopping by my site!! I hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I have enjoyed reading your posts and seeing glory given to God in so much of your life!
Good luck with the move. I will add your family to my prayer list!
Breathe in, breathe out…breathe in…breathe out…
I’m the same way about doctors and pharmacy’s and all that good stuff…I think about moving and want to throw up. You are brave!!
