My Birthday
24 Jan
This year’s birthday was decidely better than last year’s. David was able to walk and sit at the table.
We had dinner Saturday with David’s family and played board games. Would You Rather is so much fun! My three year old nephew picked out my cake and candles. He was so excited showing me the cake saying, “Somebody’s got to light it on fire!”
Sunday we had lunch with my family and watched football. Well, I wasn’t watching. I was enjoying four kinds of dip: ranch, salsa, queso, and spinach. Oh, and there were pigs-in-a-blanket. To me, football season means yummy food. I can’t wait for the Super Bowl!
Yes, I am so special my mother makes two cakes for my birthday. One with frosting and one without.
I worked on my actual birthday. David and I used Christmas gift cards to eat dinner at Whataburger. Have you ever had Whataburger’s ketchup? Let me tell you: it is amazing. So good, it comes in a square carton instead of a squeeze packet.
Thank y’all for a great birthday!

I’m so glad you had a better birthday this year! You are a very beautiful young lady and I’m glad that I’ve gotten to ‘know’ you this year through your blog. You enlighten me on what it’s like to be the partner of someone with a chronic illness. I wish you blessings for an even better birthday next year.
Thanks for stopping by via SITS. While I was reading this post it made me stop and for a second. You truly are a very lucky young woman. It sounds like you not only have a wonderful husband and family (love the nephew’s comment, how cute was that? And your mom sounds like a doll for making you two cakes.)but you really seem to appreciate your life and simple things-like good ketchup. LOL!
I’m so glad that I read this Monday morning, it’s a good reminder to appreciate our blessings.
Happy Late Birthday!!!
You have GOT to be the cutest little thing I have ever seen. What an awesome family photo of you three! I’m glad you had a great birthday! You deserve it!
