At This Present Time
8 Jan
At this present time, we are okay. Not good, not bad. Okay.
David’s arthritis is no longer flaring every time the weather changes, yet he’s still in a lot of pain. He still can’t too much. He went to a Stars game recently, and although it was fun, he was so sore afterwards, I’m not sure it was worth it. Still, he is much better, and we are very grateful for that.
At this present time, David is unemployed. He’s certainly not been lazy during this week off. David has interviews almost every day, he’s gotten a ring sized for me, bought and changed our air filter, walked the dog, purchased new tires for his car after experiencing a blowout at 45 miles an hour, hung a painting for me, purchased and installed Turbo Tax, helped Brother #1 with his Wi-Fi problem, and installed additional RAM on his sister’s computer. He’s made an enormous list of things he still wants to accomplish. I told him I cannot wait until we’re retired.
The next few weeks may be very challenging for us. Please pray that David starts a new job quickly, and that we get better health insurance. I feel as if we are in a constant state of crisis. We start making progress on David’s arthritis, and suddenly his computer programming contract isn’t being renewed.
At this present time it is 18 degrees in Dallas. I cannot wait to be snuggled up on the couch eating popcorn with David and Henry tonight. But, I will try to be content to sit in traffic listening to my audio book for an hour, then work for eight hours, and then listen to my audio book for another hour (or two, more than likely). There are far worse situations I could be in, such as the starving children in Africa or the pool boy who is getting in the water today to fix a leak.
Yes, I know someone who actually gets in the water this time of year. Thank you, God, for making me an administrative assistant!

I’ve gotten so used to living in Canada that sometimes I forget people back home don’t have good insurance.
Best of luck to you during the job hunt!
